Telemetrics Introduces Touch Screen Remote Control Panel for Canon Pan/Tilt/Zoom Cameras

Las Vegas, NV (June 18, 2008) –Telemetrics, Inc. is featuring their recently introduced touch screen remote control panel controller designed specifically for use with Canon’s pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) cameras here at InfoComm 2008. The Telemetrics RCP-TS Camera Control System (BU-45H/NU-701) seamlessly interfaces with the new Canon BU-45H remote-control pan-tilt HD camera and the standard-definition NU-701 remote-control pan-tilt camera to provide advanced camera control automation. It can control up to 16 cameras/devices via a TCP/IP connection for remote operation.

“Our strong industry alliances generate product collaboration and innovation that can optimize camera robotic and control systems,? said Anthony Cuomo, Vice President and General Manager, Telemetrics, Inc. “By combining Canon’s high performance PTZ cameras and our high quality remote control panel, customers are provided with a best-in-class solution for implementation in a variety of applications.?

The Telemetrics RCP-TS Control Panel is embedded with Windows™ XP operating system and features an 8? LCD touch screen. A joystick panel provides full camera control including trim controls for pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris and master pedestal to adjust the camera position as well as up to 16 presets per camera. The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is used for ROP controls and the specially designed control screen emulates the manufacturer’s remote operating panel.

Using standard off-the-shelf network infrastructure, the RCP-TS Control Panel controls the Canon BU-45H camera via an Ethernet 10/100/1G connection for use in such applications as POV (point-of-view) cameras for traffic and weather monitoring, houses of worship, legislative chambers, high-resolution outdoor security installations, remote-controlled Web cameras, and more. The camera is equipped with three 1/3-inch CCDs, a genuine Canon HD zoom lens with 20X optical zoom ration and a remote-control ND filter. It also offers Canon’s auto focus function and its sophisticated image stabilizer technology.
