BLU-80 signal processors and BLU-32 8×8 I/O expansion devices provide power and great sound for the paging and music systems, and Soundweb London’s flexibility lets any audio be distributed from stage to casino and back again

Patrons of the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino have a lot to do and experience in its mid-Atlantic location near Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Norfolk and Atlantic City. On the grounds of the Dover International Speedway, the casino features over 2,700 of the newest slot machines in the world. The complex’s electronic table games, headline entertainment and outstanding customer service are just some of the reasons why Dover Downs Hotel & Casino has won the Best of Gaming award four years in a row. And now, it has sound to match. Advanced AV Systems Integration of West Chester, PA, installed a BSS Audioâ„¢ Soundwebâ„¢ London system in the main casino and bar/performance area. The system consists of seven BLU-80 signal processors and six BLU-32 8×8 I/O expanders. The installation is expected to be completed in June 2008 (first event is 7/9/08)

The Soundweb London system will provide background music and paging throughout the large main casino, as well as the Fire & Ice bar area and a performance stage. While the stage will have its own PA system, utilizing nine JBL VP7212/64DP powered loudspeakers, five VP7212/95DP fill speakers and four JBL VPSB7118DP self-powered subs, the sound from the performance space can be routed into the casino, and the background audio intended for the casino and bar area can extend to the stage, too, when it’s not in use. The Soundweb London system is highly flexible. In addition to live music and typical music sources such as CDs, DVDs, music service providers and even satellite inputs, Soundweb London’s routing capability allows audio to be sent via CobraNet™ outside the casino, to a mobile broadcast truck, for instance. Kevin McGinniss, Systems Design Engineer for Advanced AV, says the performance of the Soundweb London system makes it a simple choice for any installation requiring high-quality, reliable audio distribution.
