CRESTRON INTRODUCES MEDIA PRESENTATION CONTROLLERS FOR CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY
Crestron MPC Delivers Scalable, Secure, Simple Classroom Control with RoomView® Integration
LAS VEGAS, NV, June 18, 2008 –Crestron unveils its new Media Presentation Controller (MPC) line of all-in-one classroom control solutions at InfoComm 2008 booth #N5600. MPC is a family of easy-to-install and easy-to-use systems that connect, control and route AV presentation equipment in small, one-projector applications. Simple, secure and scalable, MPCs are wall or lectern mount 2-Series control systems that fit in a standard 3-gang box. The MPC line is perfect for K-12 and higher education classroom applications, meeting all the different presentation needs of instructors, support staff and AV/IT management.
MPC provides simple interfaces with push-button layout and operation that are easy for instructors to learn and use, and equally important, can be implemented consistently in every room, lecture hall or auditorium. Infinitely scalable, MPC features a Cresnet port to add keypads and other Crestron control devices. Install MPC in a lectern at the front of the room and easily add a keypad or APAD LCD room controller on the wall. Simply connect a Crestron iLux™ via the Cresnet port to add integrated lighting and shade control in any classroom, meeting room or lecture hall. For larger rooms or higher levels of control, connect MPC directly to an external 2-Series controller, such as an MP2E or MPS, for sophisticated audio processing, mic mixing, touchpanel control and more. Streamlined “button-only MPC models are available without a built-in control system for presentation rooms that utilize an external processor.
Every MPC model features Ethernet communications and a built-in web server. Seamless integration with Crestron RoomView® software (with real-time help desk capabilities, robust reporting, asset management and room scheduling) enables IT/AV managers to remotely
monitor, manage and control every room on the network. Ethernet connectivity also provides a secondary web-based interface, so any web-enabled device can become a virtual Crestron touchpanel. SSL encryption provides a totally secure network connection at all times preventing students from tapping into the system.
The MPC line is complete and scalable across every level of size and sophistication. All MPCs feature full 2-way communication and transport control for DVD players. Several MPC models feature a 5-button thumbpad for intuitive navigation of onscreen menus.
