New HMDI v1.3 Extenders from Gefen Allow 1080p Full HD at Long Distances using Cost-Effective Cables

CEDIA Booth 518 – At CEDIA, Gefen demonstrates the functionality of two new HDMI v1.3 extension systems, each designed to offer alternative methods of high quality signal delivery.

The GefenTV HDMI v1.3 Repeater is a tiny device that sits between two HDMI cables allowing the signal to be transferred beyond its 3 meter specified limit. High quality visuals and the entire expanded HDMI v1.3 features including deep color with DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD audio formats are delivered instantly with no delays. This extender is recommended for shorter length installations.

The Gefen HDMI v1.3 CAT-5 Extender is a sender/receiver system that uses industry-standard category-5 cabling to extend the full spectrum of HDMI v1.3 audio and video up to 50 meters. At this distance, 1080p full HD is delivered with zero signal loss; resolutions up to 1080i can be extended further distances.

“One of our goals at Gefen is to offer several alternative methods of signal extension so installers can select the best methods for their specific needs, said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO. “These two systems provide a certain flexibility for anyone looking to extend hi-def audio and video with HDMI v1.3 compatibility throughout the home.
