HME Doesn’t Disappoint at X-Games

SAN DIEGO, CA — August 6, 2008 — When HME was asked to provide the communication system for the 3-D camera crews at the 2008 X-Games in Los Angeles, many factors had to be considered. The system would need to work reliably at the Staples and Home Depot Centers among high levels of RF interference; the system would have to be struck at one location and up-and-running at another in a matter of hours; and lastly, the system would have to be capable of working at multiple venues spread out across a large coverage area.

On Thursday and Friday, the camera crews were spread across the entire length of Staples to cover the “Big Air” events. The DX100 allowed the crews to take their positions and move around the event as required without losing communication. On the weekend at Home Depot Center, the parking lot and stadium events were covered without exception.

The DX100 satisfied all of these requirements and was reported by the camera crew to be problem free, crystal clear and easy to use. Said Rick Molina, HME’s Product Manager, “the DX100 performs like a permanently installed system but it is the best throw-down system available.”

The portable and compact DX100 Wireless Intercom System offers exceptionally clear, hands-free communication. Users don’t have to contend with possible interference from neighboring systems operating in the crowded VHF frequency bands. The DX100 is designed using the latest digital techniques such as frequency hopping spread spectrum with encrypted signals for secure, interference-free communication. This technique prevents people outside the system from hearing or interfering with your conversations. Diversity antennas and dual-slot diversity ensure that the strongest audio signal is transmitted and received, further improving the clarity of conversations.
