MilesTek Showcases Broad Line of Bulk Cables, Making it THE Source for A/V Connectivity

bulkcableweb.jpgSolid-Center RGB Cables, Serial Digital Coax Cables, Speaker Cables, CAT5E Cables and More Provide Varied, Easy-Install Solutions for A/V Professionals
CEDIA EXPO, DENVER, Sept. 4, 2008 — MilesTek, a global distributor delivering a vast range of networking and A/V integration products, introduces a variety of bulk cable products, including connectors and accessories, at CEDIA EXPO ’08. Designed for Custom Installation and other A/V professionals, the products include a broad selection of Solid-Center RGB Cables, Standard and Serial Digital Coax Cables, Speaker Cables, CAT5E Cables, and accessories — making MilesTek THE one-stop source for bulk cable solutions and A/V connectivity needs.

MilesTek’s new solid-center Mini RGBHV Cables are available in 25- and 23-AWG sizes. The solid-center construction of the conductor provides better performance, lower attenuation, and longer signal distances than typical stranded-center conductor cables. The smaller-diameter 25-gauge cable is ideal for short-run RGB installations. The solid-center 23-gauge cable is a little larger and offers higher bandwidth and longer distance capabilities.

Both are also ideal for HD and digital applications, and are swept-tested to 3 Ghz. An added benefit: they accept MilesTek’s single-piece BNC and RCA Compression Connectors, which simplify installations and save time on the job.

MilesTek also offers in bulk sizes solid-core Serial Digital Coax Cables in RG59 and RG6 styles. Special shielding and construction allow the cables to be used in a wide variety of HDTV, broadband and baseband applications, including jobs involving DBS, RGB, component video and line-level and digital audio formats. Most coax cables only serve specific applications, like CCTV or CATV. MilesTek’s multi-purpose cables help reduce bulk cable inventories, and accept MilesTek’s high-quality, single-piece Compression Connectors.

MilesTek’s bulk offerings include several varieties of Speaker Cable, including High-Strand and Mid-Strand Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) cable. The Premium OFC High-Strand Cable, designed for high-end distributed audio applications, features a 105-strand count and is rated for Direct Burial applications. The Mid-Strand OFC Speaker cable is perfect for in-wall distributed audio applications. It features a 65-strand count, and is also rated for Direct Burial. Both deliver exceptional performance, ease of installation, and are available in 1,000-foot and 500-foot reels or boxes.

MilesTek also offers Standard Speaker Cable with a lower strand count that’s designed for budget-conscious projects, and Audio/CAT5E Composite Cable in 14 and 16 AWG constructions. It’s ideal for keypad and volume control. Also available in bulk lengths are CAT5E 350 MHz Solid PVC, CAT5E 350 MHz stranded PVC, CAT5E 350 MHz Solid Plenum, CAT5E Direct Burial Cable, and CAT6 550 MHz Solid. Additional bulk products, in a catalog with more solutions than space permits describing, include standard coax cable for CATV and CCTV applications, RG6 Quad plus CAT5E or CAT6 structured cable, and control cables for Lutron, AMX and Crestron Systems.

MilesTek also offers a full range of connectors and tools for easy cable termination. These accessories are highlighted by the company’s new BNC, RCA and F “one-piece? Compression Connectors and a lightweight Compression Tool for terminating the connectors; a Coax Stripper for perfectly striping RG59, RG6 and Mini RGB Coax; and several unique Compression Connector Kits, which each include a 12-pocket Traytote tool bag, a Connector Case, a Compression Tool, a Coax Stripper, a round Cable Cutter, and a variety of connectors.

MilesTek’s new cables, connectors, and accessories can be seen with the company’s other outstanding products at Booth 244, Colorado Convention Center, during the show. An essential reference for busy professionals, RGB and Serial Digital Solutions is available free of charge.
