BOSCH RECOGNIZES UP-AND-COMING INDUSTRY TALENT

Jess AshbyTwo students chosen to receive $2,500 Bosch scholarship for industry education

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, August 13, 2008 — As part of the NSCA Education Foundation’s mission to reach out to the next generation of integrators, Jess Ashby and Dawn Meade will receive the training they need to succeed in the commercial electronic systems industry.

“I was ecstatic to learn of my selection for the Bosch award,? Ashby said. “Knowing that industry professionals see potential in my aspirations is both an honor and a motivator for me.?

Dawn MeadeAfter working for more than a decade in the A/V industry, Meade is grateful to have a chance to further her educational goals.

“I was absolutely delighted to learn that I won the Bosch scholarship,? Meade said. “I was concerned about my ability to fund my continuing education. Real-life, such as mortgage payments, bills and family obligations, seemed to put the dream of a graduate degree out of reach. The scholarship has made this dream a reality.?

In partnership with the NSCA Education Foundation, Bosch Communications Systems offered the scholarships in memory of Robert Bosch, who founded Robert Bosch GmbH, a German technology corporation.

“The NSCA Foundation is grateful for Bosch’s commitment to the future of our industry,? said Tom Frericks, president of the NSCA Education Foundation. “By supporting education, Bosch’s generous scholarships will go a long way to ensure the continued success of the commercial electronic systems industry.?

Ashby is a junior studying theater and working with A/V at Christopher Newport University, while Meade plans to begin graduate school at the University of Maryland where she will pursue a dual master’s degree in technology management, information systems and business administration (MBA). Both students also received a $1,000 NSCA Education Foundation scholarship to further their education.

The Bosch scholarship was available to current high school senior or college students with a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Applicants must pursue education that culminates in a career in the electronic systems industry or related field.
