EMCORE to Showcase the Optiva® L-band at IBC 2008
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, September 8, 2008. EMCORE Corporation (NASDAQ: EMKR), a leading provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the video, broadband, fiber optic, satellite, and terrestrial solar power markets, announced that it will be showcasing the new Optiva® L-band satellite signal transport system at IBC 2008. The high dynamic range, optically isolated DFB lasers and “smart gain technology, make the Optiva® L-band one of the most innovative products on the market.
The Optiva® L-band fiber optic intra-facility links are a high-performance, cost-effective alternative to coaxial cable. They provide much longer transmission distances than copper cables, which simplify network design, ease installation and even enhance immunity from EMI, RFI and lightning. The “smart gain analyzes and adjusts the level into the optimum performance parameters of the laser. These transmitters and receivers take the high RF performance and diverse features of Emcore’s Ortel technology and combines them into a compact package compatible with the Optiva® chassis. The Optiva® L-band is fully compatible with industry standard SNMP protocol providing simple integration into existing monitoring and control software. Visit EMCORE at Hall 2 Stand A 40.
