SOLID STATE LOGIC RELEASES STUDIO RECORDER AT IBC
Record, Pause, Rewind, Re-Record Into a Single File Ready for Air
AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS—At IBC, world-leading media technology innovator Solid State Logic (SSL), demonstrated its new Studio Recorder application, a new standalone application within SSL’s MediaWAN family of products. ![]()
A replacement for current VTR recorders, Studio Recorder provides the full functionality of tape, including full linear recording capabilities, without the need for tape. The system allows record, pause, rewind and re-record into a single file, ideal for studio recording where a single, complete recording is required with no need to re-assemble multiple files in post production. Within the studio environment, Studio Recorder provides a 10-second pre-roll of the last recording so camera staff and presenters can see the last event and prepare for the next part of the take. The result is a single media file that is immediately ready to air.
In a world where the move to a tapeless media environment brings many obvious advantages, Studio Recorder re-instates a proven workflow advantage established in traditional tape-based studios moving to tapeless production systems.
Studio Recorder is also available as part of SSL’s Gravity platform, a complete content acquisition, management and distribution solution providing all the encoding and transcoding tools required for fast package production, coupled with the capability of generating multiple, simultaneous output formats in different resolutions to cover any broadcasting situation.
