Panamax/Furman’s PFPower MIW-SURGE Honored at CEDIA EXPO 2008 With Two Leading Industry Awards
PETALUMA, Calif. — Sept. 29, 2008 — Panamax/Furman, a world-leading provider of AC power management solutions, today announced that its PFPower MIW-SURGE was recognized at CEDIA EXPO 2008 with two leading industry awards. The In-Wall surge protection system was the recipient of a CustomRetailer Exc!te award and was named by Electronic House as one of its Products of the Year for 2008.
The Electronic House Products of the Year were chosen by the editors of EH Publishing’s four magazines dedicated to integrated home technology. Their decisions were based on reviews that ran throughout the year, product demos, and talking with the installers and users of the products. New products were judged on the promise of features that the editors felt would be enthusiastically received by consumers. Topping the list of criteria was technological innovation, combined with overall value and outstanding features.
The Exc!te award, presented by CustomRetailer Magazine, pays tribute to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented for the custom installation professional. The winners were selected from hundreds of nominations received and judged by the magazine’s editorial staff.
“It is truly an honor to receive such widespread recognition for our MIW-SURGE by two of the leading industry awards,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax and Furman. “Our engineers worked hard to ensure that the MIW-SURGE provides the clean look that consumers are looking for. In addition, by accommodating a variety of A/V connections with a Decora® adapter, it is a highly flexible solution for any installation. These awards demonstrate our dedication to the superiority of our power management solutions and are a real testament to the innovation behind our In-Wall products.”
The MIW-SURGE offers protection for high-end displays and other home theater equipment from damaging overvoltages in an aesthetically pleasing manner. For a clean, code-compliant, and professional installation, the surge protection system mounts behind electronic equipment and offers an ultra-thin profile that allows displays to hang less than one inch from the wall. The signal line module bay provides a variety of optional installation solutions by using a Decora adapter to accommodate a variety of audio/video connections, a pass-through insert for a Keystone adapter or rubber grommet, and a Keystone two-port adapter for flexible connection capability. The MIW-SURGE accommodates optional MIW signal line modules, including the MIW-5RCA, MIW-VGA, MIW-SVIDEO, and MIW-DATA.
The MIW-SURGE will be available in October 2008, at an SRP of $69.95.
