New Orleans, LA – October 9, 2008 – Richard Gray’s Power Company announces the RGPC SubStation™ Pro, the company’s latest power management device. The SubStation Pro takes advantage of a 240-volt AC line to provide stable and balanced AC power to connected components. Designed for mid-sized home electronics installations, the SubStation Pro offers nearly 2,000 watts of additional capacity over the original RGPC SubStation, while delivering the same high levels of comprehensive surge protection and balanced (no chokes inside) power delivery.

With a capacity of 4,000 Watts, the SubStation Pro represents the middle ground between its predecessor and the award-winning, 6,200-Watt RGPC PowerHouse. Designed for 240V input only, the SubStation Pro takes up four rack spaces and has six Hubbell, 20 amp outlets on its rear panel. Ideal for mid-sized installations, the SubStation Pro completely isolates the install so that all connected components can operate on a “blank slate? of conditioned AC power. The result is that each component’s performance can much more likely live up to its published specifications.

“While perfect for smaller media rooms and entertainment systems, the original RGPC SubStation lacks the required capacity for some of the larger installations out there,? said RGPC President Rick Komendera. “Our dealers asked for both more capacity and the ability to rack mount, and that’s why the SubStation Pro was born.?

A 20-amp circuit is adequate for modest home theater systems, but larger home theater installs can quickly drain the amount of available power from this circuit. The RGPC SubStation Pro’s isolation transformer is engineered to convert a true 240-volt line into an isolated 120-volt line with six commercial grade, 20-amp Hubbell AC outlets to provide twice the amount of power over a standard 110-volt circuit. The result is a home theater system that runs more efficiently, generating less heat and thereby extending the life of the components.

Surge protection is a natural byproduct of this design because a 240-volt line isolation transformer is balanced, and lightning is an unbalanced spike or pulse that cannot readily penetrate the isolation transformer. The SubStation Pro automatically rejects the unbalanced signal, stopping the lightning strike before it can cause any damage.

The MSRP of the new RGPC SubStation Pro is $3,995. It is now shipping. The original RGPC SubStation remains available with an MSRP of $2,995.
