3M My Class Project(or) Video Contest Launches Nationwide Encouraging Classrooms to Move from Tired to Inspired

712-action-shot.jpgAUSTIN, Texas – October 20, 2008 – 3M Projection Systems Department is launching My Class Project(or), a video contest that gives K-12 classes nationwide the opportunity to win a new 3M SCP712 Projection System for their classroom. Individual students and classrooms are encouraged to carry out their creative skills and produce a video illustrating how a 3M SCP712 Projection System will transform their learning experience in the classroom taking them from ‘Tired to Inspired.’

The My Class Project(or) Video Contest begins October 15, 2008 and will run through January 15, 2009. To enter, the student or class will need to produce and submit a video 1-3 minutes in length, illustrating why their classroom will benefit from a 3M SCP712 Projection System. Because teachers are encouraged to help students with this collaborative project, 3M has developed lesson plans to make it easier for teachers to incorporate this project into their everyday curriculum. Winners will be chosen by an independent third party and announced February 2009.

“Our goal with this contest is to encourage students to be creative and collaborative with both their peers and teachers working towards a common goal that will benefit everyone’s classroom learning experience,? said Shandell Burgess, product manager, 3M Projection Systems. “The winning prize of the SCP712 Projection System can take any classroom from tired to inspired by transforming a standard dry erase whiteboard into an interactive annotation system complete with a 3M Vikuiti Super Close Projector, with bright and high quality images, a modular add-on design and full connectivity.?

The videos will be judged based on the creativity and message used to demonstrate how the use of a 3M SCP712 Projection System can help their classroom move from ‘Tired to Inspired.’ Ten 3M SCP712 Projection Systems will be awarded to the winning classrooms.

The 3M SCP712 Projection System can transform any classroom into an engaged and interactive learning environment without taking up a lot of space. The projection system saves time by offering reliable technology with annotation capabilities and full connectivity, so teachers can grab their students’ attention and encourage participation. The projection system features 3M Vikuiti Super Close Projection technology, XGA resolution, 2000 lumens, full connectivity with the I/O Module, interactivity with the 3M Annotation Sensor Module, and 60? to 80? variable screen image sizes when mounted on one of the 3M patented, telescoping wall mounts.
