A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

Audio Video Systems named a top small technology company in the Washington D.C. region for third straight year

AVSAudio Video Systems, Inc., (AVS), a fast growing audiovisual (A/V) design, engineering and systems integration firm, has again been named as one of the Washington D.C. regions’ top small technology companies. Ranked third in the Washington D.C. metro region this year, AVS has maintained its ranking among the top local small technology companies for a third straight year. The announcement, published in the October 10 issue of the Washington Business Journal, will also be listed in the publications’ annual Book of Lists.

As one of the largest small technology companies in the region, AVS joins other integrators and IT development firms on the list. From concept to completion, AVS manages large-scale audiovisual (A/V) design-build projects including command and control centers, network operations centers, secure and non-secure video teleconferencing facilities, classrooms and more.

“We are thrilled to be included in this ranking again,? says Matt Komos, AVS’ chief operating officer. “Even in these tough economic times, we are seeing continued growth in our industry and with our company. With a continued focus on complex A/V systems, our core mission remains in designing and engineering systems that bring together the data, audio and video collaboration required in today’s government and military mission critical systems.?

AVS attributes its 2008 growth to contracts in new markets including in the health care field, as well as regular government business such as agency-wide classroom renovations and facility upgrades for various government agencies. AVS’ ranking is based on company revenues from 2007.

“It has been an exciting and busy year for us,? continues Komos. AVS has completed many innovative projects this year, including a Command Operations Center for the Department of Transportation, and a complete renovation of the Secretary of Defense’s Press Briefing Room in the Pentagon. “We are now working on several large projects that will keep us extremely busy for the foreseeable future.? He credits the company’s continued relationship with the PENREN program as one major factor for the company’s steady growth.

AVS also recently won an award from Pro AV Magazine for the Best Government (Federal) A/V Installation for 2008. The award was given for the A/V installation at the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific Headquarters Command Operations Center (MARFORPAC COC) in Hawaii, which required technological upgrades to meet its mission.

With 16 years of experience in the government and military sector, the company continues to see unprecedented growth. “Our success is built on the strength of our staff who have decades of experience and a high-level of expertise in designing, building, installing and maintaining secure and classified A/V systems, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, control systems, and more,? says Komos.
