AV Week Activities a Success
Listen Technologies Corporation joined a host of companies and organizations from around the world to celebrate AV week October 19 – 26.
On Tuesday, October 21st, Jeremy Timothy, FM Product Manager and Kasey Kaumans, Inside Sales Associate for Listen Technologies enlightened students at Jordan High School with an AV Week presentation. Students learned about the history and science of audio and how AV touches their lives in many ways.
Listen also hosted an Open House to celebrate AV Week. As part of the open house Listen held a silent auction to raise money to support the hearing and speech programs of the Salt Lake Education Foundation.
Over 50 guests attended this special event. The silent auction raised $1,411.00 to support the hearing and speech programs of the Salt Lake Education Foundation. Listen also donated a Soundfield FM system that will be used in a classroom at Riley Elementary.
“We are so appreciative of the FM system and the donation,� noted Lisa Holmstead, Salt Lake Education Foundation Representative. “The whole evening was great, and the kids will benefit so much from the amplification system.�
On Thursday, October 23rd Listen employees went on a tour of the Hale Center Theatre to experience the facility from an AV perspective. Michael Fox, Director of Operations for the theatre led employees on a tour that included a sound demonstration from the patron’s perspective, a history of the theatre, rehearsal rooms, dressing room, backstage, the costume shop and under the stage to see the hydraulics of the stage.
Employees concluded the events of AV Week with a competitive round of Family Feud. Participants were put into teams to test their Listen knowledge. “It was a fun, educational way to spend my lunch hour.� stated Ryan Williams, Product Management Associate for Listen Technologies. “We are a pretty competitive group and pride ourselves on our job and industry knowledge.�
