PANASONIC PROFESSIONAL DISPLAY COMPANY REPORTS INCREASE IN SALES AND INSTALLATIONS OF 103-INCH PLASMA
Secaucus, NJ, November 11, 2008 – Panasonic Professional Display Company (PPDC), a unit of Panasonic Corporation of North America (PNA), the industry leader in professional Plasma displays, continues to see an increase in sales and installations of its flagship TH-103PF10UK 103-inch 1080p full-HD professional Plasma display. The TH-103PF10UK is the largest commercially available Plasma on the market, and is currently in use in a wide range of applications, including conference rooms, digital signage, entertainment, command and control, and home theater, to name a few.
International A/V dealer/integrator Electrosonic has been active in recent 103-inch sales. ESPN purchased a 103-inch Plasma in support of the network’s recent switch to live broadcasting, and Duty Free Americas, Inc. an operator of more than 90 duty-free news and gift stores in U.S. airports and along the U.S. borders with Canada and Mexico, purchased 103-inch Plasmas for digital signage use at select locations.

Philadelphia, Pa.-based Video Visions has seen an increase in 103-inch installations and sales for its clients. The Green Turtle, a popular East Coast-based restaurant and sports bar with 20 regional eateries, is installing 103-inch Plasmas in select locations to enhance customers’ sports viewing experience. And Comcast, headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., purchased a 103-inch Plasma for corporate boardroom video conferencing and presentation use.
BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. currently owns and operates 78 casual dining restaurants under the BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse or BJ’s Pizza & Grill brand names. The chain has purchased 103-inch Plasmas for sports and entertainment playback in select Southern California locations.
The TH-103PF10UK ships with a 100,000-hour service life, backed by Panasonic’s 3-year warranty and world-class Plasma Concierge Service. A 100,000-hour service life, based on 12 hours of constant use in a business or commercial establishment, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, means the 103-inch Plasma could, on average, take almost one-quarter a century (22.8 years) to reach half its original brightness level.
Noteworthy features include industry-leading configurability for video wall environments, newly updated video processing technology for superior imaging, enhanced wireless presentation capabilities, versatile plug-in card functionality, and dual HDMI functionality. For commercial video wall environments, the TH-103PF10UK provides native support for up to a 5 x 5 display configuration, the largest of any Plasma display in the industry. A new Portrait Zoom feature facilitates display of a single horizontal image across three vertically-mounted 103-inch Plasmas for an impactful display area of over 93 square feet.
