University of Mississippi Chooses Pure Digital Fiberlink for Presidential Debate Event

Hauppauge, New York – Millions of people from around the world tuned in to watch the Presidential debate at the University of Mississippi. Behind the scenes, the Pure Digital Fiberlink® 3150 Series of HD/SD-SDI fiber optic transmission systems was a critical component in delivering each candidates message.

For the first Presidential debate held on September 26, 2008, “Ole Miss� decided to take advantage of the Pure Digital Fiberlink 3150’s support for DVB-ASI. The technical team utilized two pairs of 3150’s to accomplish their signaling objectives and transmit the live debate footage to the world. The first pair utilized single mode fiber optic cabling to distribute the DVB-ASI signal to the standing room only overflow venues located across campus. The second pair was tasked with distributing the signal to the QAM HD cable feed located a mile away using one single mode fiber delivering the debate to millions of global viewers.
