RICHARD GRAY’S POWER COMPANY BRIGHTENS THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SHARP AQUOS® EXPERIENCE IN NEW YORK’S GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL

sharp-aquos-experience-1.jpgNew York, NY – December 4, 2008 – In conjunction with Sharp Electronics, Richard Gray’s Power Company (RGPC) is providing power management for a true consumer electronics spectacle designed to bring holiday cheer and excitement to commuters and travelers alike: an exhibit consisting of 43 Sharp AQUOS® Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TVs of various sizes arranged to give the impression of a tree. The AQUOS Experience will be located on the EAST side of the Vanderbilt Hall Bridge in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal throughout the month of December.

As part of this initiative, Sharp will donate $1 to The HOPE Program for every individual* who enters a sweepstakes being held at the AQUOS Experience, with a minimum total donation of $50,000. Consumers passing through Grand Central can enter sweepstakes forms to win one of the TVs from the AQUOS Experience. The HOPE Program is a charity that equips its participants with the skills they need to find, keep, and advance in jobs.

Sharp has counted on RGPC products to meet its innovative exhibits’ substantial power management demands at numerous trade shows and demos over the years. Given this solid track record, it was no surprise that RGPC was Sharp’s first choice for managing the nearly 10,000 watts of power consumed by the AQUOS Experience structure.

RGPC has installed no less that 20 RGPC units including seven Substations, six 400 Pros, two 600S and five RGPC Extenders. RGPC’s patented Parallel technology and surge protection will enable all 43 of the AQUOS LCD displays to operate at 100 percent efficiency, receiving only the precise amount of energy required to operate at peak levels. RGPC products will also ensure all the TV’s are isolated from the enormous amounts of AC line noise caused by nearby machinery and the terminal’s considerable lighting and infrastructure demands. Advanced power management also eliminates energy waste while providing a consistent stream of clean power to provide the absolute best video performance from the top-quality displays.

“When Sharp approached us about this incredibly ambitious project, we immediately realized what a testament it could be to the value of power management,? said RGPC President Rick Komendera. “Stacking 43 LCD TVs on top of each other in the shape of a tree is a daunting task. Our premium power management system will be there to make sure the structure ‘lights up’ the first time—and stays lit throughout the season.?

At the end of the exhibit’s run, the 20 RGPC products will be numbered and sold as limited edition models through RGPC’s network of New York City authorized dealers.
