~ Neutrik Donates Several of its Connector Products to Floating Stage Company~

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Having conquered the theatre on land, Neutrik recently turned to the sea to become product sponsors for the Caravan Stage Theatre Company, a floating theater production company that recently concluded its Fall 2008 tour of coastal Greece and the Greek Islands.

The Caravan Stage Theatre has a 38-year history of bringing provocative, groundbreaking contemporary theatre to audiences in North America and abroad. The Fall 2008 Coastal Greece and Greek Island’s Tour took the floating theater, the ship, the AMARA ZEE, and the new play, “UTOPIAN FLOES,” to 15 venues throughout the region. As Caravan Stage Company’s Tom Richmond explains, performing on a ship poses some unique connectivity challenges.

“We needed connectors that would be reliable in adverse weather conditions,� says Richmond. “We knew that Neutrik connectors could put up with rough handling, last in the long run and would be easy to install. Neutrik was the obvious choice.�

Neutrik donated several of its best-selling products, including Neutrik’s Jack and XLR cables as well as its speakON plugs, to Caravan to connect the entire sound rig of its four-piece live band, which includes drums, bass, cello and a harp. The sound system features a 12-channel AKG radio mic rig, which runs through a Soundcraft 24/4/2 into a set of JBL speakers and amplification via Neutrik speakON plugs. All of the patch cables have been built using Neutrik connectors. Also, the ship recently upgraded its system adding internal speaker wiring including [4] flush mount Neutrik speakON plugs at strategic points around the ship.
