New York, NY In this year’s election 126 million Americans turned out to vote; the most in history. The television audience was assuredly massive as well, which meant that national broadcasters had to be ready for seamless, split-second updates during the entire night. One national broadcaster setup a duplicate of their news system, and had dozens of KP-32 keypanels throughout every location including the studio, main campus, and two HD production trucks in Times Square, which was packed with starry-eyed spectators. In addition, remote stations in Connecticut, Washington DC, and London were also seamlessly tied in. This was accomplished using RTS ADAM matrix frames with the new AIO-16 16-port analog I/O cards. One network’s Director of Engineering praised RTS technicians for being well-informed and very supportive. The DE also commented on the night’s broadcast being nearly perfect.
