SYMETRIX NOW SHIPPING AIRTOOLS VOICE PROCESSOR 2x
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WASHINGTON – JANUARY 2009: Symetrix is proud to announce that the latest in its distinguished line of voice processors for the broadcast market is now shipping. The AirTools Voice Processor 2x features two independent channels of ultra-low latency digital signal processing that are completely customizable from an easy-to-use computer software program. The AirTools 2x includes the processing necessary to make the voices of on-air talent rich, articulated, and attention-grabbing, and up to fifty customized programs may be saved and instantly recalled to make everyone in the station’s lineup sound their best. Perhaps best of all, the AirTools Voice Processor 2x delivers all this power and flexibility at a competitive price-point.
The Voice Processor 2x occupies only one rack space and interconnects with the rest of the studio via two mic/line analog inputs, two mic/line analog outputs, two AES digital outputs, and a word clock input. Available processing includes lush-sounding compression, equalization, de-essing, downward expansion/gating, high-pass filtering, low-pass filtering, and voice symmetry.
The included Windows(r) software application enables complete control of critical parameters and interfaces with the hardware unit via a hassle-free Ethernet connection. Once a desired sound is dialed in, all settings can be saved as named presets for later recall, allowing a given studio mic to be optimized for a diverse air staff of male and female voices. Presets may be recalled with convenient front panel controls, optional hardware remote(s), or a third-party control protocol.
“The voices of on-air staff are arguably the most defining features of a broadcast station,” said Paul Roberts, director of sales for Symetrix. “Treating them properly to maximize intimacy and impact is of paramount importance to the image and ultimate success of a station. Enter the flexible, powerful, and easy-to-use AirTools Voice Processor 2x. Chief engineers will love its feature set and straightforward programming. On-air talent will love its simplicity of operation. Studio managers will love its ability to process two microphones independently in a single rack space. And of course, everyone will love its vivid sound – including the all-important listening audience.”
The AirTools Voice Processor 2x stands at the vanguard of a long and deeply-respected line of Symetrix voice processors that began with the classic 528 and has continued through the 601, the 528E, the 628, and the 6200. As an engineering-driven company of signal processing specialists, Symetrix has been synonymous with high-quality audio processing for over thirty years.
