New at Digital Signage Expo 2009

X2O Media Software Plus Services Strategy
Fresh for Digital Signage Expo 2009, X2O Media announces its new Software Plus Services strategy. X2O’s approach combines everything digital signage customers need into a packaged solution customized to meet each user’s specific needs. This includes not only X2O’s industry leading software tools, but also a wide range of managed service options that users can choose from to build and run their own networks, looking after as much or as little of the day-to-day operations as they wish.

X2O’s Software Plus Services launch includes the introduction of the X2O Web portal, a collection of powerful tools for managing all aspects of network operation, all from a standard Web browser. X2O also provides other subscription-based services for digital signage networks, including full network hosting at X2O’s data center, end-to-end content management services, and around-the-clock system monitoring from X2O’s network operations center, with proactive troubleshooting and remote problem resolution.

Xpresenter™ 2.5
X2O Media will release version 2.5 of its flagship Xpresenter™ platform at Digital Signage Expo 2009. Xpresenter 2.5 includes a new release of the Xpresenter Server; new versions of centralized, Web-based content management tools; and other Web-based services. This latest release, along with monitoring services offered from X2O’s Network Operations Center, X2O’s Data Services, and a wide array of content and design services, gives customers everything needed to run a state-of-the-art digital signage network.

Features of Xpresenter 2.5 include:
• New version of Remote Manager with Web interface for the Xpresenter Server
• LDAP or Active Directory (MS) integration tools to manage user rules and permissions
• Powerful Web-based content management screens
• Customizable proof-of-performance and reporting tools
• Web-based monitoring tools
• Web-based asset management and distribution tools
• New Web service platform for managing data subscriptions and licensing

Xpresenter™ Xe
At Digital Signage Expo 2009, X2O will unveil the new Xpresenter™ Xe, an all-in-one, stand-alone digital signage system that’s ready to use out of the box. Xe is the ideal solution for customers who want an affordable, entry-level system but don’t want to compromise the quality of the content on their displays. For stand-alone applications such as displays in corporate lobbies, doctor’s waiting rooms, retail stores, and more, Xe provides a robust feature set, including:

• Better-than-broadcast-quality output. Powered by a broadcast rendering engine used in the broadcast industry, Xe delivers a professional-looking output no matter what the user displays.
• An easy-to-use configuration wizard. In order to get users up and running right out of the box, Xe includes an easy-to-use configuration wizard that walks them through a series of steps that quickly produce a completely customized display.
• Point-and-click content management tools. Any day-to-day updates to the on-screen content can be made quickly and easily via a Web-based control screen. Actions include updates to tickers and publishing breaking news.
• Links to live data. X2O believes constantly refreshed content keeps viewers watching.

X2O Media Data Services
At Digital Signage Expo 2009, X2O Media will introduce X2O Data Services, a new service offering that provides digital signage users large and small with a wide variety of live data feeds. The service includes convenient bundles of the most popular live data feeds — news, weather, sports, and business — at competitive rates, with additional content available à la carte, such as science and technology, entertainment, celebrity gossip, offbeat news, and more. X2O Media is also offering premium data feeds, including live business tickers digging deep into commodities, currencies, and bonds; UPI news; and live sports data. All of X2O Media’s product and service offerings, including Data Services, give customers everything needed to run a state-of-the-art digital signage network with ease.

“Making or Breaking Your Digital Signage Network: How Good Content Wins Customer Loyalty? With so many different technologies available to support a digital signage network, it’s no wonder that most companies find themselves focusing on the behind-the-scenes nuts and bolts of their system instead of investing valuable time on developing content — the part of the network that customers will actually see. Even the most advanced digital signage platform will fail to earn viewers if the content it deploys is not strong. Digital signage audiences, accustomed to the sophistication of broadcast TV, are expecting more from digital signage networks than ever before, so the ability to create compelling content is of vital importance.

At Digital Signage Expo 2009, X2O Media President and CEO David Wilkins will present the workshop “Making or Breaking Your Digital Signage Network: How Good Content Wins Customer Loyalty.? Held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in room N259, the workshop will teach attendees:

• The role content plays in establishing and reinforcing a brand.
• The types of content that earn the most loyalty with customers.
• How to analyze the audience and understand the content best suited for them.
• How to apply content development principles that are proven to be successful in the world of broadcast TV.
• How to make the most of content that’s readily available.
• The impact various digital signage technologies can make on developing and updating content.

Company Overview

X2O Media (pronounced ex-two-oh media) is a full-service provider of technology, network management services, and content services for high-end digital signage applications. The company offers traditional client-side software, hosted software, or a hybrid solution that best suits the customer’s needs. X2O’s award-winning Xpresenter™ provides an end-to-end platform for the creation, management, and distribution of content at broadcast quality, and at a fraction of the time and cost of higher-end solutions. In addition to technology, X2O offers content design, acquisition, management, distribution, and monitoring services for digital signage networks.

X2O recently received the 2008 Content Award from Digital Signage Expo East in conjunction with event technology supplier PSAV, an X2O Media reseller. The annual award recognizes innovative and compelling creative content in digital signage, interactive technology, and out-of-home network applications. The 2008 award highlighted the contributions of X2O Media’s Xpresenter system and the efforts of PSAV in creating a unique, interactive digital signage network for the Hyatt Regency O’Hare hotel in Rosemont, Ill. The 13 46-inch touch-screen displays at the Hyatt O’Hare allow guests to access information on scheduled events, meeting locations, facilities, concierge services, amenities, and airline arrivals/departures. Among the highlights of this interactive application is a 3-D map that illustrates how to navigate from one area to another.

X2O was launched by the founders of VertigoXmedia, Inc., an innovator in the field of broadcast graphics, following VertigoXmedia’s acquisition by Miranda Technologies. More information about X2O Media is available at www.x2omedia.com.
