St. Cloud, MINNESOTA, (February 2009) – Jupiterbay, Inc., a leading full-service integrator of digital signage and displays, is making it easier for students and visitors to find their way at St. Cloud Technical College in St. Cloud, MN, with touch-screen kiosks that provide interactive maps and a calendar of campus events.
“Using interactive kiosks is a natural for any situation where up to the minute information and directions need to be available at all hours, said Tony Picciola, President of Jupiterbay. “A campus setting and a busy schedule of college happenings is a great fit for our system.
Placed at bustling entrances throughout the college, the five Jupiterbay kiosks assist in navigating the sometimes-confusing building layout of 46,000 square-feet. And, because the kiosks are linked to the school’s R25 scheduling software, they also allow students to view St. Cloud’s calendar of events. By touching a listing, the user is automatically provided details and directions to the location of the selected event. The kiosks can also communicate what’s on the meal schedule, and plays a promotional video of the school as well. Plans are underway to eventually include specific information by department.
The installation was part of an overall campus remodel and expansion plan, and is a perfect application for Jupiterbay’s wayfinding technology uses. Jupiterbay worked closely in concert with Marco and Fenesis Enterprises, Inc., on the St. Cloud project.
Jupiterbay’s turnkey solutions include all the necessary services for implementation of an interactive system, including content development, graphics design, hardware, software, 3rd party integration, custom development, installation and support.
Jupiterbay’s proprietary FusionCast software platform is a complete enterprise software platform that can work to manage a network of kiosks and digital signage displays located anywhere in the world. FusionCast also includes the industry’s most dynamic content scheduling tools, as well as full reporting capabilities to monitor and measure interaction with specific kiosks.
“Whether it’s five, or five hundred, Jupiterbay makes it easy to integrate these kiosks at schools and universities, or even corporate facilities, said Picciola. “The system would have even greater use on a much larger campus.
