KRAMER AND SIERRA VIDEO PRODUCT PROVIDE DENTON COUNTY WITH EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT
Bottled water, canned food, flashlights, radios and batteries are basics for emergency survival kits. But the Denton County Emergency Operations Center in Texas also has Kramer Electronics and Sierra Video products as part of its kit.
The County’s newly created 70-seat conference center is designed for communications during local emergencies or national disasters. Sierra Video routers and Kramer Electronics switchers, controllers and scalers help city and fire officials evaluate and act on emergencies.
The system includes five big screens that can display up to 16 different images from four satellite receivers, four cable TV tuners, four DVD/VCRs, four computers and a document camera. The Sierra Video 3232V composite video router and a Sierra Video 3232V5V five level video router link the projectors for three screens on the front wall of the conference center. The two screens on either side of the room receive video from projectors linked to the Kramer VP-725DSA video switcher/scaler.
The room has 30 different audio zones, with 36 microphones. Four Kramer VP-211DS computer graphics video and stereo audio standby switchers are used to interface laptop computers or fixed PCs. The entire video routing system is controlled by two Sierra Video model 804015 32 x 32 XY LED remote controller panels.
ECI Video, a Dallas-based professional audio/video designer and installer, recommended Kramer Electronics and Sierra Video product for the installation. “It’s the hardware we prefer because of its reliability and support, said Jay Cubberly, Executive Director of Technology at ECI Video. “When the client described their needs, we created a full set of drawings based on Kramer and Sierra Video products.
The system has been used for communication during months of heavy rains and flooding in the areas north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
