CEDIA will hold Registered Outreach Instructor â€œTrain the Trainerâ€? course three times in 2009
INDIANAPOLIS (March 3, 2009)â€”The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has increased the number of courses available through its Registered Outreach Instructor (ROI) program from three to 11 for 2009. The new courses cover such topics as lighting control, home theater design and structured wiring, and are now available for delivery by current CEDIA ROIs.
The ROI program is a part of CEDIAâ€™s industry outreach efforts, which work to develop greater collaboration between electronic systems contractors and professionals in the design and build industry. The program trains participating full CEDIA members to deliver approved education to design and build professionals on a regional basis. Members of the American Institute of Architects and the American Institute of Building Design receive learning units for their attendance.
Through the efforts of volunteer subject matter experts and CEDIA staff, three existing courses were updated and eight additional courses were prepared for delivery by ROIs. The new courses create additional opportunity for CEDIA members to build relationships with local industry partners and educate them about the value of residential electronic systems.
â€œThese new courses help broaden CEDIAâ€™s grassroots efforts to reach the design and build industry with the message that CEDIA members are the go-to professionals for residential electronic systems,â€? said Barrie McCorkle, CEDIAâ€™s ROI action team chair. â€œItâ€™s clear from our membersâ€™ feedback that industry partners appreciate the education, and the additional courses will help us make the most of this opportunity.â€?
The ROI program is exclusive to full CEDIA members. To become an ROI, members must participate in the programâ€™s â€œTrain the Trainerâ€? course, which will be offered June 18â€“19 at CEDIAâ€™s Training Facility in Indianapolis, Sept. 12 at CEDIA EXPO in Atlanta and later in the fall of 2009 (date to be determined).
