Lexington, Kentucky, February 27, 2009 – Audio Authority Corporation (www.audioauthority.com) announces the C-1071 “BlueBeam� IR to Bluetooth converter, one of seven new product introductions scheduled to reach market in the second quarter of 2009.

The BlueBeam converter restores the convenience of a single universal remote by serving as a bridge between an IR-only remote control and the Bluetooth-only Playstation 3. Users previously had to use one remote to operate their television and audio equipment, and a second, proprietary Bluetooth remote to control playback on the PS3.

“A number of custom integrators and consumers use the Playstation 3 in home entertainment systems because it’s a fantastic Blu-ray player, and provides incredible media extender capabilities. However, the limitation of the PS3’s Bluetooth-only control is a major headache to integrators and users alike. The BlueBeam solves that problem, and helps integrators deliver a better product to their customer,� said Trent Davis, Audio Authority’s product manager.

The BlueBeam is simple to install, and doesn’t require a wired connection with the Playstation 3 to operate. Powered by an optional powerpack, USB connection, or included AA batteries, the device sits within 30 feet of the PS3, and receives IR signals from any universal remote, which it then converts to Bluetooth commands instantly. All of the Playstation remote’s buttons are supported, including discrete off and on commands.

Simpler plug-in adapters don’t allow execution of a power-on command, making integration of control macros nearly impossible. A simple PC setup utility allows the creation of up to 10 unique macros for simplifying complex tasks within the Playstation 3’s menus.
