NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY PROVIDES VIDEOS TO STUDENTS, FACULTY WITH MediaPOINTE ENSEMBLE SERVER

Managing Content is Easier on ‘News @ Northeastern’ Website

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. – April 28, 2009 – Advanced Media Design, developer of the award-winning AV-over-IP collaboration technology MediaPOINTE®, today announced that Northeastern University is implementing a MediaPOINTE Ensemble server that makes managing video content easier and offers a more efficient uploading process for Northeastern University’s news Website, www.northeastern.edu/news.

MediaPOINTE Ensemble can hold thousands of hours of rich media content like recorded video of important speakers, special events, and even the annual Northeastern baseball team matchup against the Boston Red Sox played in Ft. Myers, Fl.

The MediaPOINTE Ensemble Server can be used in myriad ways across a campus: students can watch news items, special events or lectures by specific professors on their PCs, in a lecture hall or library, or even on their iPODs®.
“We produce a significant amount of video content and need a centralized way to upload and access them,� added Comer-Woods. “When MediaPOINTE Ensemble is fully implemented, users can access archives, search by keyword, view videos full-screen size and may copy code and embed videos on their own sites.�
MediaPOINTE Ensemble’s intuitive wizard-based content administrator interface requires very little training and support, so it’s easy for systems administrators to upload video and audio files in multi format types including those in Windows® Media, Real Media, QuickTime®, Flash, MPEG4, and many more.
