Dan Dugan to Show Low-Cost Automatic Mixing Controller at InfoComm
Dan Dugan Sound Design will demonstrate the new E-1 Automatic Mixing Controller, featuring Dugan’s transparent automatic microphone mixing technology, at InfoComm booth 5871.
The E-1 Automatic Mixing Controller has replaced the Model E as Dugan’s economy model. It replaces the physical control panel of the Model D- series with a Java-driven remote control panel on the user’s computer. The E-1 provides eight channels of signal processing and patches into the input insert points of an audio mixing console. The product detects which microphones are being used and makes fast, transparent cross-fades, freeing the operator to focus on balance and sound quality instead of having to pay constant attention to the faders.
The new model incorporates key features requested by Model E users:
• In addition to analog I/O, the E-1 has two pairs of ADAT connectors, one pair for digital I/O and one pair for linking. The E-1 can be linked with any combination of Models D-2, D-3, and E for up to 64 channels.
• A back panel switch changes the inputs from analog (TRS insert connectors) to digital (Lightpipe). Both analog and digital outputs are always active simultaneously.
Applications for the Model E-1 include events staging, conference sound reinforcement, houses of worship, video trucks, talk shows, reality shows, theaters, government chambers, distance learning, and teleconferencing.
Dan Dugan said “I’m pleased to be able to respond to our users’ needs. The Model E represented an affordable alternative for users who found the cost of our high end products out of reach; the E-1 further responds to our users’ requirements by adding the features they want.”
The E-1 Automatic Mixing Controller sells for $3,199.00 and is now shipping.
