Avocation’s SR-2 Turns One Serial Port into Two
04.31.2009 — In a recent Tech Tip, Russound gave a nod to a little problem solver called the SR-2, which gives two control systems bi-directional serial control of a product that has only one RS-232 port.
The adapter, offered by Avocation Systems, facilitates RX, TX and ground signals and is capable of transmission speeds up to 460800 baud.
David Dickinson, the integration specialist for Russound’s Dealer Services Department noted, “The SR-2 is the perfect solution that our customers have been looking for. Finally, a widget that is simple and does what we want and need it to do.”
Avocation sales manager Trent Mulligan says, “There’s virtually no thought in using it,” says “You power it, plug in your devices and it works.”
