ESTABLISHING THE NEXT GENERATION OF INTEGRATORS

Cedar Rapids, IA, May 27, 2009 — The NSCA Education Foundation will award up to ten scholarships, two of which will be $2,500 scholarships named after Robert Bosch to students interested in a career in the commercial electronic systems industry. Scholarships will assist students with the rising costs of education and be applied for tuition in college or a technical school program.

The next generation of system integrators in the commercial electronic systems industry are finding a variety of technologies and applications to apply a degree to including, but not limited to: acoustics, audio, automation and control systems, A/V, communications, data networks, digital signage, information technology, interactive display, life safety, lighting, telephony and video.

“NSCA Education Foundation scholarships provide individuals interested in the commercial electronics industry with the means to get started with a broad-based, practical and theoretical education,? said Tom Frericks, president of the Foundation Board. “Students participating in the NSCA Education Foundation scholarship program will enter an exciting field with fantastic growth opportunities.?

Any high school senior or college student with at least a 2.0 GPA pursuing a career in electronic systems is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The award may be used for tuition at any accredited, post-secondary institution. Applications are due June 12, 2009, and announcements will be made by July 12, 2009.

The U.S. Department of Labor predicts the telecommunications industry, which comprises the work of electronic systems technicians or other low voltage commercial and residential electronic systems as one of the areas of growth over the next five years. The NSCA Education Foundation focuses on the next generation of professionals entering the commercial electronic systems industry through resources such as scholarships, student memberships to NSCA and job resources; as well as building an endowment fund for the future.
