Calypso Systems Introduces Updated ezRoom Bundle to Provide Energy-Saving Multimedia Control to Schools
WOODBURY, MN, June 8, 2009 — To provide state-of-the-art multimedia management and control to K-12 classrooms and reduce classroom energy waste, Calypso Systems has updated its top-line ezRoom solution with enhanced power management and control capabilities.
The new ezRoom-5000 – like the original ezRoom model – is a complete, pre-assembled A/V solution that brings together high-quality multimedia management and control to K-12 classrooms quickly, reliably and cost effectively. Setting it apart, the ezRoom-5000 features an internal power management block and software package that schedules device shut-down.
“Technology on all fronts is rapidly evolving, and schools are looking for solutions that are bigger, better, and – most importantly – more efficient, said David H. Parish, Ph.D., president of Calypso Systems. “The ezRoom-5000 provides the reliable, easy-to-use multimedia management and control that teachers need, with the environmentally-conscious features that schools are starting to demand.
Delivering the same convenience as the earlier ezRoom model, the ezRoom-5000 features power-saving devices, including:
- Smart Block – A power management tool for classrooms, the Smart Block can forward a command at a preset time for complete power shutdown to low-voltage D/C devices, reducing the amount of energy wasted by devices that are plugged in but not turned on.
- Encore – A software package that allows device commands to be controlled from a Windows desktop, Encore also allows for scheduled projector and computer shutdown, saving energy on devices that are not in use.
Developed on an open architecture platform, the ezRoom-5000 is compatible with all projectors and standard A/V equipment, and has the design flexibility to adapt and expand as classroom technology needs change.
The ezRoom-5000 includes integrated device control, hardware and software user interfaces, remote monitoring, audio amplification, CAT5 wall plates, projector mounting, and every wire, cable and connector needed to build out classrooms. The ezRoom-5000 comes as a pre-assembled package, which allows for seamless integration and hassle-free installation, cutting back significantly on installation time.
To provide teachers and administrators with the opportunity to experience the power and potential of the ezRoom-5000 firsthand, Calypso Systems is now accepting applications for the Calypso School First Foundation’s 2010 Integrated Classroom Grant, which provides $1,200 toward the purchase and installation of the solution.
The ezRoom-5000 has an MSRP of $2,624.00 with K-12 pricing available. For more information about the ezRoom-5000, the Integrated Classroom Grant program, or other Calypso Systems solutions, please visit http://www.calypsosystems.com or call (888) 381-9646.
