Iroquois Elementary School Standardizes With Hitachi CP-X265 3LCD Projectors
– The Iroquois School District Plans To Outfit The Iroquois Junior/Senior High School –
The Iroquois Elementary School in Erie, PA, which opened in the fall of 2007, decided upon a unique application of Hitachi projectors by installing Hitachi’s CP-X265 3LCD in each classroom and meeting room. Two successful years later, the Iroquois School District plans to build on the success of the Elementary School by installing Hitachi projectors in the Iroquois Junior/Senior High School.
According to Bob North, technology coordinator for the Iroquois School District, the decision to standardize on Hitachi projectors came down to convenience, control and value. “We were in the final stages of the new elementary building project when we decided to switch from televisions in every classroom to projectors, Mr. North said. “At that time our technology staff consisted of two people, so we were looking for a solution that would be easy to manage.
The CP-X265 also offered easy maintenance, with Hitachi’s proprietary PJMan software. “We decided that we needed projectors with network connections to provide us with feedback on lamp hours, filter hours and other control, Mr. North added. “Hitachi had what we needed for far less money.
Shortly after installing the projectors, the Iroquois School District incorporated a digital remote control from Hitachi that operated well with the teachers’ MacBooks. “The remote provided the teachers with similar features as the manual remote on their desktop, Mr. North said. “Eliminating the remotes was beneficial to the technology staff and greatly reduced user frustration..We now have the ability to customize the digital remote to include the names of the buttons that are frequently used by the teacher.
The Hitachi projectors will continue to play a critical role in the education process within the Iroquois School District. Our plan is to standardize on Hitachi projectors Mr. North said. “The teachers are very happy with the equipment and the application did not add much to the technology department’s work load. The projectors have exceeded my expectations. The maintenance of the filters was a minor issue that has now been addressed in the newer models that contain the 5,000-hour filters. We will standardize on the new Hitachi projectors throughout our district.
