Britain’s Peak Hire Ltd. Bolsters Its EAW Arsenal with Eight KF850 Series Virtual Array™ Modules and Eight SB1002 Subwoofers

PeakHireWhitinsville, MA, USA, August 11, 2009 – Peak Hire Ltd., based in Cheltenham in Gloucester, England, serves as one of the U.K.’s leading sound and lighting contractors. They provide skilled technical support for productions, concerts, theaters, conferences, outdoor events, etc., throughout the U.K. and Europe, and their hire inventory of sound, lighting, rigging, power, set and stage equipment is varied and extensive. Recently, they bolstered their inventory of products from EAW, a world leader in audio system technology, with the purchase of eight EAW KF850 Series Virtual Array™ System Modules and eight EAW SB1002 Large Format Flyable Subwoofers.

Peak Hire’s EAW arsenal was already sizeable, including 16 EAW KF730 Compact Line Array Modules and eight EAW SB730 Compact Line Array Subwoofers, along with a good stock of EAW JFX88 Compact Full-Range Loudspeakers, EAW JFX200i Compact Full-Range Loudspeakers and EAW SBX220 Compact Subwoofers. The purchase of KF850 and SB1002 units is a significant investment in large-scale EAW systems, further enhancing Peak Hire’s commitment to their market sectors and clients and dedication to the EAW brand.

Peak Hire Managing Director Karl Ashman stated, “EAW has long been a staple in our inventory of sound reinforcement components, and over the years, our clients have always commented about the outstanding sound quality of their modules. That being said, we have increased our warehouse of EAW System Modules and Subwoofers to meet the equipment demands from our clients in live sound and corporate conferences, as well as theatrical productions.?

About the KF850 Series Virtual Array System
The KF850 Series has been the touring system standard for well over ten years, being acceptable in more technical riders than any other loudspeaker. Its longevity is attested to by the fact that with over 10,000 units already out in the field, several hundred are still sold every year. Knowing customers still employ this workhorse every day, EAW engineers decided to modernize the touring classic with a significant performance upgrade featuring the latest proprietary technology and contemporary components. The resulting current KF850 iteration, the KF850z, has higher impact and fidelity than ever before.

About the SB1002 Large Format Flyable Subwoofer
The SB1002 is a large-format, high-output subwoofer that can be ground-stacked or easily flown via an integral rigging system. The mounting of the dual 18-inch cone drivers maximizes cone area and minimizes front area, providing acoustical performance and physical configuration well suited for creating large sub arrays. These custom drivers offer very large (4.5-inch) voice coils as well as powerful neodymium magnet structures that also reduce weight. The rigging system, similar to that of EAW KF760 Series line arrays, accommodates flown arrays of up to 12 SB1002 units. A handle on the rear upper corner of the SB1002 enclosure provides added guidance and convenient “push-pull? ability in the flying process.
