FOR-A TO HIGHLIGHT HVS-300HS COMPACT HD/SD SWITCHER, VRCAM VIRTUAL STUDIO AT SET BROADCAST & CABLE 2009
MIAMI, FLORIDA – FOR-A Latin America, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast industry, will showcase a range of products at the upcoming SET Broadcast & Cable Show Aug. 26-28, 2009, at the Imigrantes Exhibition Center in São Paulo, Brazil. FOR-A will exhibit in the booth of Tecnovideo (Booth #68), the company’s exclusive distributor in Brazil.
“The SET Broadcast & Cable Show has become a must-attend event for FOR-A, said Mr. Hiro Tanoue, President, FOR-A Latin America. “Each year, the event draws a larger key audience of broadcast and video professionals from Latin America. We expect our products to draw a lot of attention at the show this year.
At the show, the HVS-300HS HD/SD portable video switcher will make its Latin America debut. With a compact 1RU main unit, the 1M/E switcher is an ideal solution for use in flight packs, mobiles or small production facilities. Several features make the HVS-300HS a perfect choice for broadcasters and production companies that have not fully upgraded to HD.
Standard resizing engines on all inputs of the HVS-300HS make it possible to mix SD and HD signals in a full HD production. Optional analog input/output modules enable the use of legacy SD equipment. Optional DVI/WUXGA input/output modules enable the use of PC graphics. Standard frame syncs, available on each input, eliminate the timing issues involved with mixed signal installations. Plus, optional HD/SD-SDI output module contains one channel of down conversion to feed existing SD systems.
For the first time in Latin America, FOR-A will demonstrate VRCAM – a plug-in for its Brainstorm eStudio 3D realtime graphics software package. With VRCAM, a virtual studio can be created without any modifications to existing cameras, lenses, tripods and other parts of an established camera system. Studio operation is simplified because the VRCAM system requires no location data detection sensors or complex calibrations typically required by a traditional virtual studio, when used with the MBP-12CK chroma key option found on FOR-A’s MBP-1244 video card.
With ordinary studio sets, the camera’s range of motion necessarily limits the picture that can be produced, but VRCAM moves a virtual camera through the CG, removing picture limitations and enabling dynamic productions that extend beyond the size of the studio. The subject is inserted as a video wall on a CG set and put in place as a CG object, achieving a virtual studio in which the actor’s movements are tied into motion on the CG set. It is an elegant solution for news programs and weather forecasts that use fixed camera work, strong visual productions that are difficult to create with traditional camera work, or smaller scale video productions. FOR-A also offers a library of background CG sets.
