Bid on the City And CitiNet Consulting Utilize Hitachi 3LCD Projectors To Create Dynamic Real Estate Property Displays

New York City based real estate agency Bid on the City hired CitiNet Consulting to install and maintain two Hitachi CP-X809 3LCD projectors at its 5th Avenue bidding center location. Bid on the City utilizes video technology to distinguish itself in a challenging economic climate.

Bid on the City is a real estate trading platform that offers online and in-person bidding on residential and commercial properties worldwide. Bid on the City presents a level of transparency for buyers and sellers not currently offered through traditional real estate brokerage companies. Properties are sold 30 days after being listed with buyers bidding in real time on Bid on the City’s platform, negotiating the best possible price. Bidding occurs simultaneously online and in person at the bidding center. The bidding is streamed live globally via the Internet.

“Bid on the City is an effective way to gauge the true value of a property, it’s a completely transparent process,? said Raymond Villani, managing director for Bid on the City. “We simply bring the buyer and seller together.?

CitiNet Consulting set up a podium and a ceiling-mounted Hitachi CP-X809 projector, displaying properties on a Da-Lite HC Da-Mat Tensioned Contour Electrol screen 14 feet from the projector in the main room at the bidding center. “We found the Hitachi projector to be the ideal solution for the bidding center because of its brightness and reliability at a very low price,? said Kirill Bezrodnykh of CitiNet Consulting.

A ceiling-mounted CP-X809 projector emits 5,000 lumen images behind a 40.25? x 53.75? Da-Lite Halo screen at the front window of the Bid on the City store location, creating a large and continuously changing display of Bid on the City’s properties. “When we designed the front of the store, we were enamored by the Hitachi projector in the bidding center,? said Raymond Villani, managing director for Bid on the City. “We wanted to be cutting-edge, not just for the sake of being cutting-edge, but in an effective manner. Denis and Kirill of CitiNet Consulting responded with this unique configuration of the projector and the screen, and it was immediately seized upon and brilliantly executed.?

Almost immediately, the front window display had a positive impact on Bid on the City’s business. “One of our goals is to ultimately have BOTC branches across the world, building a truly global brand,? Mr. Villani added. “Within a week of the installation, we had a gentleman come in off the street after viewing the display, and now he is opening a Moscow branch of BOTC. Recently, we notice people walking into the store because of the display everyday—people that might otherwise walk right by.?

“I believe BOTC’s business model proves that challenging economic conditions breed innovation. If there are ways for us to market ourselves differently and more effectively to distinguish ourselves from the competition, we see that as a worthwhile investment,? Mr. Villani said. “Our digital signage solutions utilizing the Hitachi projectors exemplify that approach.?

The project also exemplifies the ongoing convergence of IT and audio/video technologies, which has provided a challenge and an opportunity for companies like CitiNet Consulting to expand their range of services. “The majority of our business has been networking and IT for businesses, but this technology is now extending to video hardware, providing us with the ability to grow the scope of our business to include those products and services,? said Denis Kozlov of CitiNet Consulting.

The CP-X809 projector is designed to facilitate ceiling mounting in mid to large-size spaces and offers a number of features for easy maintenance. The CP-X809 also uses inorganic LCD panels, which feature a higher resistance to light. This translates into longer operational life for the projector, and better picture quality during the life of the projector. The CP-X809’s hybrid filter provides longer operation with less frequent maintenance and cleaning. With the lamp door on top and a side-mounted filter, maintenance and replacement of these parts can be done easily, even when the projector is ceiling-mounted.
