Studer awarded major contract for OnAir digital audio consoles
More than 80 state-of-the-art, digital studios to be equipped with Studer consoles.
LONDON, UK – Studer is pleased to announce that it has won a contract from the BBC to deliver in the region of 85 OnAir digital audio mixing consoles over the next two years. Some will be deployed in the second phase of the rebuilding of the Portland Place London HQ where more than 50 studios are to be built for use by the BBC’s World Service and News divisions.
In 2005 four Vista consoles were installed for the larger radio production drama studios as part of the first phase of the project, this new agreement extends the corporation’s use of Studer consoles in London.
In addition, at the new MediaCityUK broadcast centre in Manchester, the BBC will be installing 25 OnAir consoles to provide state-of-the-art digital studios for the Corporation’s domestic radio services such as BBC 5 Live.
