The PM1D started a digital revolution in live sound, and its worldwide popularity resulted in significant sales, and the beginning of a new era.

Now 10 years later, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. has announced that Yamaha Corporation Japan has reached the limit on availability of key components. Therefore, in order to secure enough parts for customer service well into the future, the production of this legendary mixing system will cease in December 2009. Current requests for PM1D systems will be fulfilled, and limited quantities will remain available until the existing stock is depleted.
