Lutron Launches Industry First…Taking Drapery in a Whole New Direction
Coopersburg, PA (Sept. 9, 2009) – Lighting control manufacturer, Lutron Electronics, has taken drapery in a whole new direction with the introduction of the Kirbé vertical drapery system. An industry first – this new type of window treatment smoothly pulls draperies up and completely out of the way at the touch of a button.
No longer limited to drawing drapery left to right, the Kirbé allows the homeowner to operate draperies up and down at the touch of a button. Great for residential applications where the use of drapery is desired, but stack-back blocks the window and impedes the view, the Kirbé rolls completely out of the way allowing the homeowner full access to a window or door and the view beyond.
This state-of-the-art automated shading system contains a roller drive that silently draws the drapery up and down, combining touch-of-a-button technology with style and dramatic effect. When users want to block the harsh glare of the sun or need more privacy, they can simply press a button from the convenience of a remote location and have the drapery lower to the desired level.
The Kirbé vertical drapery system is available for use with sheer fabrics as part of the new Avant Collection™. Privacy or total light blockage can be achieved by using a blackout roller shade which comes standard with the Kirbé.
The Kirbé vertical drapery system will begin shipping in November, 2009. For more information, including purchasing details, visit www.lutron.com.
