Panamax/Furman Power Management Solutions to Dazzle in Elegant New Savant NYC Experience Center

PETALUMA, Calif. — Sept. 10, 2009 — State-of-the-art AC power management solutions from Panamax/Furman will take a bow in the dazzling new Savant NYC Experience Center opening in New York City’s affluent SoHo district. The 7,500-square-foot design center will feature two fully automated spaces, one with a commercial focus and the other residential, to enable Savant’s authorized dealers to show prospective clients how the company’s A/V control and entertainment systems integrate seamlessly into a real-world setting.

As a member of Savant’s Excellence in A/V Program, Panamax/Furman’s power management systems allow seamless installation with Savant’s automation solutions through an RS-232 communication port. In the Savant design center, Panamax’s MB1500, Furman’s Elite-20 PF i and IT-Reference 20i, and the Panamax/Furman MIW-XT in-wall power management extender systems will all be used to protect and enhance the performance of A/V components.

“We are excited that Panamax/Furman will be among the premium brands on display in our SoHo design center,” said Craig Spinner, director of marketing at Savant. “Its world-class power filtration and UPS solutions are must-have components for any high-end home A/V installation, and their quality and reliability means that our dealers can recommend them with no hesitation.”

The residential portion of the Savant design center is scheduled to open in October, with a gala launch party planned for November. The commercial space is expected to open in the first quarter of 2010. Savant has assembled a world-class team to execute the project including one of House Beautiful’s “Top 100 American Designers” and a recipient of House and Garden’s coveted international “Taste Maker” designation, Thom Filicia. The residential showcase will feature a fully automated master bedroom and bathroom, music/piano area, and media room. There will also be a dedicated home theater crafted by world renowned theater designer and industry legend Theo Kalomirakis and a fully functional kitchen by Dahlia Kitchen Design.

“It is a huge honor to be selected to participate in a project as visible and elegant as the Savant design center, and we are glad that our solutions are playing such a key role,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax/Furman. “By participating in Savant’s Excellence in A/V program, we’ve shown what an excellent fit our solutions are with Savant’s industry-leading home control systems — and the dealers and consumers who visit the design center will witness this synergy first-hand in a real-world setting.”

• The MIW-XT extends the benefits of a Panamax or Furman power management component to remotely located equipment. An elegant, code-compliant design easily installs into the wall for discreet delivery of clean power from a remote location.
• The MB1500 features a 12A capacity with 1500VA battery back-up, while including surge protection, automatic voltage regulation, and Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT). Remote or local IP control is an available option through Panamax’s new BlueBOLT™ technology, which allows the MB1500 to be managed either remotely or integrated into a home network. An optional 2-RU 1500VA battery extension pack (BATT1500-EXT) is also available, extending battery run time by as much as 4x.
• The IT-Reference 20i utilizes a massive, discrete symmetrically balanced isolation transformer to ensure 100 percent isolation of connected equipment and provide pristine balanced power for uncompromised equipment performance.
• The Elite-20 PF i power conditioner brings an elegant design to the home theater, featuring Furman’s SMP/LiFT/EVS for maximum equipment performance and longevity. Ideal for use with power amplifiers and powered subwoofers, the Elite-20 PF i’s Power Factor Technology provides an 80A peak current reservoir ensuring low-impedance, ultra-linear power source for high-current equipment.
