SmartAVI, Inc. Introduces V-Grabber

V-Grabber is a Dynamic, Powerful PCI Card Functioning as a High-Resolution VGA/RGB Frame Grabber that Captures Images up to 1600 x 1200

BURBANK, CA (September 21, 2009) – SmartAVI, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the fields of digital content creation, management and delivery solutions through hardware and software, today unveiled it’s powerful PCI plug in card, the V-Grabber, that is capable of capturing any VGA, XGA or UXGA source feed and display it on your desktop.

The primary function of V-Grabber is to allow the output signal from any computer to be displayed on a user’s desktop or on a display screen without any type of software installation or interference whatsoever to the source. This is especially useful in situations where the source computer is testing software, needs to remain clean of additional installations, is on a secure network that needs to remain private, or is a machine that doesn’t even have a writeable hard drive to install software on.

“The V-Grabber allows a user to display content from another computer on his or her desktop or display without any intrusion on the source,? explains Albert Cohen, President and CEO of SmartAVI, Inc. “There are many instances when a computer cannot be compromised in any way, yet needs to be monitored for whatever reason – software testing, medical imaging, even military intelligence. In these cases, there is no way to effectively take what that source machine is doing and display it on another computer’s desktop or on a remote monitor, except with hardware such as our V-Grabber.

“There are programs and services out there that are designed to allow users to see another computer remotely. However, this is not only completely dependant on software and pipeline bandwidth, it is marginal performance at best,? says Cohen. “Using V-Grabber, the transfer of data is completely on the hardware side, delivering image resolutions up to 1600 x 1200, which is ideal for engineers, doctors or any other type of professional needing a large amount of data to be displayed flawlessly and without delay from the information source.?

SmartAVI’s V-Grabber is a high-resolution frame grabber, capable of displaying all RGB/VGA sources on a desktop or display screen at resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. This is perfect for digital imaging needs such as medical evaluation, corporate video conferencing or video editing. Other scenarios that the V-Grabber is ideal in include the financial market, military operations, flight simulation technologies, theme park integration, desktop publishing, emergency command post architecture and computer-aided manufacturing/engineering.

V-Grabber hardware works on any source machine that provides either VGA or RGB output. Display software is included with V-Grabber to run on any Windows®-based PC. The source can be PC, Mac or any other type of component with a VGA/RGB output signal.

The suggested retail price for SmartAVI’s V-Grabber is $1,299.00.
