FOR-A to Demonstrate Array of Products at HD World Conference and Expo
CYPRESS, CA, October 7, 2009 – FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and video production industry, will demonstrate a wide range of products at the upcoming HD World Conference and Exposition, which runs Oct. 14-15, 2009, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City (Booth #1009).
“The HD World Conference is an important event for FOR-A, said Mr. Hiro Tanoue, President and CEO, FOR-A Corporation of America. “With the HD marketplace growing each year, it draws a key audience of broadcast and video professionals from the East Coast. With FOR-A’s focus on HD and multi-format functionality, we expect our products will greatly benefit HD producers and will draw a lot of attention from professionals already in the HD world, along with video professionals who are in the process of making the HD transition.
FOR-A products to be highlighted at this year’s HD World are:
HVS-300HS HANABI HD/SD Multi Format Portable Video Switcher
With its compact design, the HVS-300HS HD/SD portable video switcher has become a popular choice for houses of worship, video production companies, OB production trucks, broadcasters and corporate production facilities that are making the transition from SD to HD productions. The HVS-300HS features a frame synchronizing and resizing engine on every input. This provides the opportunity to use existing SD equipment to mix various SD and HD signals. Other features included are: a built-in 16-split multiviewer, 2D and 3D DVE transitions, and more than 100 wipe patterns. All this in a compact switcher and 1RU main unit make it an ideal switcher for use in flypacks or remote production applications.
FOR-A VRCAM Sensor-less Virtual Studio System
FOR-A will also demonstrate VRCAM, its IBC award winning plug-in for the Brainstorm eStudio 3D real-time graphics software package. With VRCAM, a virtual studio can be created without any modifications to existing cameras, lenses, tripods or other parts of an established camera system. Studio operation is simplified because the VRCAM system requires no location data detection sensors or complex calibrations typically required by a traditional virtual studio, when used with the MBP-12CK chroma key option found on FOR-A’s MBP-1244 video card.
FOR-A MediaConciergeâ„¢ Media Management System
HD World attendees will also get a look at MediaConciergeâ„¢, a media management system that helps broadcasters take full advantage of all business opportunities that exist for their media assets. It handles tasks such as media ingest and file format conversion, allowing each asset to be repurposed for delivery via a variety of outlets, including broadcast, the Internet, and packaged media. For ingest, the MBP-100SX MXF clip server converts MXF files to baseband video and HD-SDI signals, and vice versa, in real time. The converter uses a new video card developed by FOR-A that supports XDCAM HD, DVCPRO HD, and AVC-Intra tapeless media files.
FOR-A FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter
Other products on display include the FRC-8000, also an IBC award-winning multi-format frame rate converter that provides an easy, one-touch setup system. It automatically detects scene cuts and changes, as well as 2:3 sequence pull-down between 1080/60i or 1080/59.94i and 1080/24p formats, to realize optimal motion compensation and frame rate conversion.
Plus, FOR-A will showcase its HD/SD Universal Modular processor products, which support multiple modules for conversion, routing, frame sync, time base correction, and more.
