New Reference Stadium for Electro-Voice in Zagreb, Croatia

The Arena Zagreb, which opened in December 2008, has raised the architectural profile of the Croatian capital, Zagreb. Tehnozavod Marusic installed an extensive pro sound system from Electro-Voice in the multifunction hall, which seats up to 22,000 visitors. High-calibre concerts from acts such as Beyoncé and the London Symphony Orchestra crowned the highly successful inaugural event season. more

Electro-Voice upgrade for historic Tulsa church

Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, located in downtown Tulsa, Ok., recently received an extensive upgrade to its sound system, courtesy of Oklahoma City-based AV-interiors. The church, one of Tulsa’s Art Deco jewels, was built in 1925 and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright protégé Bruce Goff. The building was included in the United States’ National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Because of its cultural and architectural significance, Boston Avenue church required an upgrade that wouldn’t compromise its renowned aesthetics. Joseph Lane Peavey, the Peavey Electronics Corporation founder and CEO’s grandfather, was very active in the Hamasa Shriners—his name is even engraved on the Moorish Revival theater’s cornerstone. Like Hartley, J.L. Peavey was an entrepreneur and an inventor with many patents to his credit. Hartley inherited his collection of hand tools when he passed in 1955, and two years later used those tools to build the first Peavey amplifier. more
