Apantac LLC, a leading designer and developer of high quality, cost effective image and signal processing equipment, announced that The Mobile Television Group has installed 29 Tahoma LE-8 HD and 3 Tahoma LE-4 HD Multiviewers onboard its truck, 25 HDX. This truck is designed to produce stand-alone and “dual-feed shows in both standard-definition and high-definition in 720p and 1080i.

With mobile units located in most major markets in the U.S., Mobile Television Group helps produce live sports and entertainment events across the country. The 53 foot expando 25 HDX truck has been recently used to produce NBA, MLB, and NHL events for Fox Sports and other networks.

The Apantac Tahoma-LE Multiviewers are being used to help produce live SD/HD telecasts across the country. The Tahoma-LE Multiviewers provide the production crews with a multi-image display solution to visually monitor incoming signals as well as seamlessly integrate with the vast array of production equipment on board the 25 HDX truck. Up to 94 video sources including cameras, VTRs, slow-motion equipment, graphics and external feeds are monitored using Tahoma-LE Multiviewers.

Each Tahoma-LE Multiviewer handles 4 – 32 SD, HD-SDI or composite inputs, and the production crew can configure each display using Apantac’s intuitive and easy-to-use configuration layout software. This helps the Mobile Television Group to transition easily between different events where the monitoring requirements differ.

The Tahoma-LE series incorporates a built-in CATx extender, which allows the output of the Multiviewer to be extended up to 115 feet. Tahoma-LE supports DVI, HDMI and VGA outputs up to 2048×1080 (incl. 1080P), and includes built-in video and audio alarm detection. The Tahoma-LE series also provides users with dynamic UMD and tally capability for a wide variety of routing switchers, master control switchers and production switchers.

According to Phil Garvin, General Manager of the Mobile Television Group, it was the versatility, compact design, and cost-effective pricing that resulted in their selection of Apantac Multiviewers. “We have had an excellent relationship with the engineering, sales, and customer service teams at Apantac, and their Tahoma-LE Multiviewers are an extremely powerful solution. The Tahoma-LE Multiviewers have exceptional image quality and complements the rest of the premier technology we have in our production trucks.
