Denon Implements Roland’s V-LINK into New DN-X1600 Digital DJ Mixer

Anaheim, CA – January 15, 2010 – Today marks the unveiling of the Denon DN-X1600, the world’s first digital DJ mixer to be introduced with V-LINK allowing DJ’s to perform a wide range of visual effects coinciding with their music.

V-LINK is an open protocol developed and promoted by Roland that provides the ability for musical/audio devices to interact with video/visual performance devices. By using MIDI to connect two or more V-LINK compatible devices, users can easily enjoy performing a wide range of visual effects that are harmonized to the expressive elements of a music performance. There are thousands of V-LINK equipped products sold and used around the world under the EDIROL, BOSS, Roland, and RSS brands.

The Denon DN-X1600 Digital Mixer V-LINK implementation is being demonstrated at the Denon booth B5955 at NAMM using the EDIROL V-8, an eight channel video mixer. The DN-X1600 connects to the V-8 using a MIDI cable and controls visual effect parameters to tempo and music.

The EDIROL V-8 represents the natural expansion of the industry standard EDIROL V-4 four channel video mixer incorporating the same primary feature set. Doubling the video inputs and adding computer inputs truly addresses the needs and requests of the SD video market segment. The EDIROL V-8 appeals to VJs, schools, houses of worship and corporate AV users who need more inputs, more effects, and regularly incorporate computer graphics and presentation software applications in their video performance and presentations.
