Crestron today announced the release of the new Crestron TPS-6 6-inch tilt touchpanel, a wired version of the multiple award-winning TPS-6X wireless touchpanel introduced by Crestron in 2008. The TPS-6 features high-speed Ethernet connectivity, enabling full motion video display in a scalable or full-size window, so you can monitor a security camera or preview a DVD or television channel right on the touchscreen. The TPS-6 has the same sleek, contoured and lightweight tabletop form factor and all of the features of a docked TPS-6X or newly released TPS-6XNL.

“The TPS-6X was the most successful touchpanel launch in Crestron history, and got rave reviews for its unique, elegant design, extreme speed and graphics capabilities. For applications in which wired connectivity is preferred, or specified – such as government facilities – the TPS-6 is the ideal solution,” said Vincent Bruno, Crestron Director of Marketing.

The TPS-6 features the same Isysâ„¢ graphic engine as all of the latest Crestron touchpanels. This includes dynamic text and graphics that deliver the display of audio settings, TV channels, and lighting levels; changing icons, photos, and logos, and digital media playlists complete with album cover art.

DNav dynamic menu objects technology in the TPS-6 enable gesture navigation, an efficient and simple way to view cover art and browse media playlists. Illuminated pushbuttons provide quick access to volume adjustment, channel selection and on-screen menu navigation, and button text is easily viewable in variable lighting conditions thanks to backlit laser engraving. The TPS-6 ships with both a pre-engraved backlit button bezel and a blank bezel, in elegant high gloss black or white, or matte black finishes.

With an innovative tilting base, the screen tilt of the TPS-6 can be freely adjusted or locked down (at up to a 45 degree angle) for optimal viewing and operation. Its single cable can be positioned for a clean, cordless appearance, and a swivel mount kit is available for fixed-mount applications that require the ability to rotate the touchpanel during use.
