Westbury National Awarded Systems Integration Contracts with Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) and CIBC
TORONTO – Westbury National Show Systems is pleased to announce being awarded two prestigious systems integration contracts to kick off a busy 2010.
The first is a multimillion dollar contract with Dalhousie University in Halifax to facilitate an innovative distance learning program that allows first and second year medical students to attend classes at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John (UNBSJ). Linking the two universities will be high bandwidth, high definition videoconferencing systems with extensive collaboration, signal distribution, visual display, audio and control systems at both campuses.
Designed by Engineering Harmonics, the extensive audiovisual systems will feature an all-digital video distribution and switching architecture incorporating Crestron’s new Digital Media protocol. Other system highlights include Christie Digital HD projectors, DNP Supernova Infinity screens, 85 Panasonic plasma displays and Crestron’s new V Series touchpanels.
Inter-campus communication will be enhanced by BSS Soundweb London digital audio signal processors with AEC for every Clock Audio student and instructor microphone, then broadcast through JBL and Tannoy loudspeakers with Crown and QSC amplification.
The initial phase of the DMNB project to be finished in the summer of 2010 includes six videoconference-equipped lecture and meeting rooms at Dalhousie and three rooms at UNBSJ with a combined capacity of nearly 300 students. Additional rooms will be added at both campuses and a number of hospitals in New Brunswick as the first wave of students enter their third year of medical studies.
Westbury National has also been awarded a significant contract to replace outdated audiovisual systems in a 60-seat executive boardroom at the headquarters of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).
Designed by Engineering Harmonics, this AV system is notable for its extensive 60-participant voice conferencing and sound reinforcement system. Utilizing MediaMatrix NION digital audio signal processing, RF-immune Clock Audio conferencing microphones, Lectrosonics digitally encrypted wireless mics and Renkus-Heinz loudspeakers, the new design promises a substantial improvement in sound quality, clarity and intelligibility for CIBC executives, board members and clients.
The installation is already underway and also includes two 135 HD displays equipped with Christie Digital WUXGA+ projectors and RP Visuals rear projection systems, as well as a Crestron Digital Media all-digital video switching and distribution system mated to both wired and wireless Crestron touchscreen control panels.
