Huntsville, Alabama – February 10, 2010- PESA, a major provider of professional audio and video gear for signal distribution and router transport solutions will display several new products at NAB, April 12-15, in the North Hall of the LVCC, booth N4123. PESA will showcase their new Cheetah-3, a fiber optic router for Dual Link DVI or 3G-SDI systems up to 144X144. For 3G-SDI and 1080p/60 transports, PESA will be displaying the new Cougar-3 for 3G-SDI/HD-SDI up to 32X32 and the Ocelot-3 for 3G-SDI/HD-SDI for 16X8 and 16X16. For high performance computer displays, PESA will be demonstrating their new Vidblox family of Media Extenders for DVI, VGA, and RGBHV over fiber or coax and several new models of QuadBox for 4X4 switching and signal extender applications.

Cheetah-3, 144X144 Router for HD-SDI/3G and 3D-HD up to 1080p/60
PESA’s Cheetah-3 is one of the smallest and most compact 3G-SDI fiber optic routers on the market offering an incredible 144X144 in only 4RU. PESA’s Eco-friendly Cheetah-3 offers sizes starting at 36X36 with the flexibility to expand up to 144X144 without the need for additional rack space or power supplies. A fully loaded frame consumes a maximum of 300 Watts, reducing the cost of total ownership over the life of the product. Systems can be setup to support a wide range of digital transports including SMPTE 259M, 292M, and 424M. Additionally, the Cheetah-3 can support transport of 3D-HD using two parallel HD-SDI paths. The user selectable format by-pass features allow data rates from 143Mbps up to 3Gbps. The Cheetah-3 supports both singlemode fiber and multimode fiber, Ethernet control and diagnostics, as well as a full line of remote control panels to manage any type of system control requirements. The Cheetah-3 is positioned as a extremely cost effective solution for mobile trucks, long-haul HD digital television transports, satellite head ends, and mid-sized high definition video studios and tactical operations and command centers.

Vidblox Extenders for 2K digital cinema and 1080p/60 transports
The VidBlox product line is designed for transport of high speed digital formats supporting pixel resolutions up to 2560X1600 @60Hz over a single coax or fiber optic transports. The latest 3G-SDI technology is built into these Dual-Link DVI converter/extenders, making them fully compatible with all of PESA’s HD-SDI and 3G-SDI routers and distribution equipment. Several models are available to support your specific requirements. The VidBlox-TX series provide high-end signal conversion of Dual-Link DVI, VGA or component video to HD-SDI/3G-SDI; and the VidBlox-RX series converts HD-SDI, Dual Link HD-SDI or 3G-SDI to Dual-Link DVI, VGA, RGB, or component video formats. Each module can work independently for standalone applications; or multiple modules can be configured into a system for routing high end computer graphics in I/O configurations up to 1024X1024.

Expanding small to medium 3G-SDI routers with the Cougar-3 and Ocelot-3 family of routers
For small scale routing of 3G-SDI and support up to 1080p/60, PESA offers the Ocelot-3 capable of routing all SMPTE and ITU standards for serial digital video, including support for embedded audio and other ancillary data for broadcast and digital cinema requirements. The Ocelot-3 can be configured as a 16X8 or 16X16. Next in line is PESA’s Cougar-3 configurable as 16X16 or 32X32 with similar capabilities and features. The Cougar-3 is compatible with all of PESA’s control systems and remote control panels and allows easy setup for network configuration with PESA’s QuView or 3500Pro Control Software. Both the 1RU Ocelot-3 and 1RU Cougar-3 offer exceptional value for standard SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI switching and is perfect for digital cinema, telemedicine, oil and petroleum, high definition situation room, command and control, and simulation/visualization environments.

Mini-Switcher applications supported with PESA’s new QuadBox 4X4 compact switch box.
PESA expands the QuadBox series of fiber media converters with three new product offerings – a 4X4 coax switch box, a 4X4 fiber switch box, and a 2 channel bi-directional fiber/coax extender. Supporting video formats from 143Mbps to 3Gbps, these modules provide equalized and reclocked video signals for SMPTE 259M, 292M, and 424M or can be set to by-pass mode if needed. For the latest in 3D requirements, the new QuadBox units are excellent for long-reach signal distribution allowing up to two dual-link HD-SDI channels to be distributed over fiber for distances up to 10Km. Each model is housed in a compact package which can be mounted under a table or rack mounted using the optional 1RU tray assembly. Up to four modules can be installed in the 1RU tray and powered through a shared power distribution box using only one AC power connection. Using only 4.5 watts per module, this Eco-friendly package is power efficient and reduces the total number of wall plugs needed by 75%. Each module can be configured as a network device managed through PESA’s QuView software or managed locally through an on-board USB port using QuView SA software.
