Huntsville, Alabama – February 19, 2010- PESA introduces its new 384X720 Cheetah line of high performance fiber optic and coax based matrix switchers for end-to-end digital transmission of computer video and 3G-SDI / HD-SDI digital video. Perfect for large enterprise-wide environments like corporate campuses, universities, distributed command and control venues, and large mobile trucks, the Cheetah 384XR can expand from 16X16 up to 384X720 and supports switching transports for 3G-SDI, Dual Link HD-SDI, and the latest 3D stereoscopic requirements.
With front loaded and accessible matrix cards, power supplies, and control cards, these frames are designed for mission critical environments where down time is not an option. The 384XR provides reliable, field proven performance delivering cost effective switching for ASI, SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI over industry accepted SMPTE transports. Each I/O card can perform full uncompressed distribution of 1080p/60 when used with our outboard VidBlox high performance fiber/coax dual link DVI extenders.

The Cheetah 384XR accepts and routes SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI without the need of external conversion gear, and is compatible with our Vidblox and Quadbox series of fiber optic digital transmitters and receivers, switchers, and distribution products for computer video and DVI signals.

The modular frame design accepts multimode and singlemode I/O cards and can be configured in either rectangular or square matrix sizes. With built in control and network capabilities, the 384XR, when configured with the 3500PRO or PERC2000 Control system, offers feature rich configuration tools for fast action switching, system monitoring, and self diagnostics of all in-board cards. A large variety of remote control panels and network based control software are available as well.
