PESA builds on the QuadBox Series with new Dual-Channel 3G/HD/SDI Bi-Directional BNC to Fiber Converters
Huntsville, Alabama – March 7, 2010- PESA, a major provider of reliable and innovative professional AV distribution and router transport solutions introduces the QFX-QUAD30-TXRX Dual Channel Electrical to Optical and Optical to Electrical extenders for 3G-SDI signals. Now you can convert 3G-SDI to optical fiber, and optical fiber to 3G-SDI simultaneously. Using LC transceivers, the QFX-QUAD30-TXRX transports SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, or ASI video standards independently in each direction. These units are low power consumption modules providing high reliability, high performance and superior transmission quality demanded in applications for digital cinema, telemedicine, satellite imaging, military command centers and simulation/visualization environments.
PESA’s QFX-QUAD30-TXRX is a unique product ideal for HD broadcast, studio and post-production applications. Modules can be configured for long range bi-directional video transport where shared high definition video needs to be transmitted as well as received. In remote camera configurations, this module creates a perfect solution for monitoring on-air feeds while transporting remote video. And with the dual channel capabilities, each remote location could be setup to carry up to two camera feeds or setup as a backup transport in more critical applications.
Each module provides two independent I/O ports, and each port is fully compatible with SMPTE 259M, 292M and 424M video signal sources -with or without embedded audio. Each Input and Output Port is setup as one of two identical I/O paths defined as either Transport-1 or Transport-2. All inputs are auto-equalized; and with standard SMPTE formatted outputs, each signal is auto-sensed and re-clocked to the appropriate transport stream. For non-standard formats, re-clocking circuitry can be set to by-pass mode.
Each module supports network control capability, or can be quickly setup via a local USB port. Either of the two I/O ports can be monitored using the supplied QuView-SA (USB only) software to detect fiber signal power, temperature, and determine if the video source is locked to SDI, HD, or 3G formats. The optional QuView PNC software is installed on a host PC running the Windows® operating system and communicates with multiple modules via the Ethernet port.
Each QFX-QUAD30-TXRX is based on a fiber transport insuring immunity to video pathological signals over the entire transport interconnect. Singlemode or multimode fiber cable can be supported – extending transport distances up to 600m with multimode and up to 10Km with singlemode. Housed in a compact enclosure the QFX-QUAD30-TXRX is easily installed under a table or in a 1RU space with optional mounting components. Up to four modules can be powered from a single power source in the 1RU tray. Easy to read LED indicators are located on the front of each DC-TRX2 module to indicate active signal and power.
“The Quadbox compact fiber media converters offer incredible cost savings where multi-transport, multi-format, and bi-directional high definition video for long range video is required, said Dan Holland, Vice President of Product Marketing for PESA. “The addition of the QFX-QUAD30-TXRX bi-directional module to the Quadbox series was the direct result of PESA listening to our System Integrators and their customer needs.
