Harris Corporation to Introduce New IP Conversion Card for Existing Intraplex® T1/E1 Systems at 2010 NAB Show
New Intraplex® CM-30 Network Card Rounds Out Complete Range of Intraplex STL Solutions for Radio Broadcasters
CINCINNATI, March 18, 2010 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, will exhibit its complete range of studio-to-transmitter solutions at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas (Booth N2502) that give radio broadcasters an array of choices for transporting program audio, voice and data from one-to-one or one-to-many locations.
The company will also introduce the new Intraplex® CM-30 module for converting existing Intraplex T1 and E1 systems to IP.
Intraplex CM-30 — Cost-effective Conversion to IP
The Intraplex CM-30 network card plugs into already-installed Intraplex multiplexer frames for immediate conversion to IP. The solution provides the large installed base of Intraplex customers with a seamless, cost-effective upgrade path and field conversion in a matter of minutes. It allows Intraplex customers to achieve reliability in transport approaching the levels of T1/E1 with lower recurring costs. Signal quality and feature sets of existing T1/E1 systems are retained while migrating to lower-cost, high-performance IP networks.
NetXpress LX — Compact, Affordable Solution for Program Audio Transport
Harris will also showcase its range of Intraplex® NetXpress™ Audio-over-IP platforms, including the recently introduced NetXpress LX™, a 1RU IP audio codec capable of carrying up to four bidirectional stereo audio programs. The compact, affordable NetXpress LX expands the range of the Intraplex NetXpress family, which has built a reputation for reliability in transporting audio, voice and data over complex, geographically widespread IP audio networks.
Intraplex frames equipped with the CM-30 are fully interoperable with Intraplex NetXpress and NetXpress LX audio over IP multiplexers. Like NetXpress and NetXpress LX, the Intraplex CM-30 can accommodate up to 32 streams and connections in point-to-point unidirectional and bidirectional deployments; and point-to-multipoint unidirectional multicast scenarios.
Intraplex HD Link — Reliable STL Transport for Analog and HD Radio Broadcasters
Harris will also display the now-shipping Intraplex® HD Link™, recipient of Radio World “Cool Stuff and Radio Magazine “Pick Hit awards at the 2009 NAB Show. Intraplex HD Link is built for fixed microwave studio-to-transmitter links using the 950 MHz band. It employs the latest RF, audio and digital networking technologies to provide dependable, great-sounding audio links.
HD Link supports both UDP/IP and the higher-performance TCP/IP protocols for exporter-to-exciter (E2X) delivery of multimedia services, featuring two prioritized IP channels to facilitate HD Radio IP transport alongside lower-priority traffic. Broadcasters can transport HD Radio multicast streams (main and supplementary program services) and the stereo analog service beside other services with room to spare; or analog-only services including linear and/or compressed stereo, mono and auxiliary audio services including SCA and EAS signals.
Harris Broadcast Communications offers products, systems and services that provide interoperable workflow solutions for broadcast, cable, satellite and out-of-home networks.
