A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

Brea, CA – April 2010… Altinex, a leading manufacturer of Modular AV Solutions™, is pleased to announce the introduction of the Showtime 2100 AV Presentation System. The sixth such system in the company’s Showtime “Solution in a Box? offerings, the new Showtime 2100 makes it easier than ever for school districts to take advantage of the features and benefits of the Altinex Showtime systems while operating within today’s limited budgets.

The Altinex Showtime 2100 AV Presentation System makes the process of using audio-visual equipment in the classroom both easy and intuitive. Available with both automatic “detect and select? (auto signal sensing) and one-touch button control for selection of available system sources, the Showtime 2100 handles all the necessary connections to route video and audio playback to the intended display monitor and loudspeakers—ensuring a seamless experience for the classroom instructor. As a member of the Showtime family, the new Showtime 2100 supports the entire range of innovative features that have made these network-enabled systems easy to use and IT administrator friendly. The Showtime 2100 is a comprehensive, turnkey AV solution designed to provide educators with a powerful, yet affordable, multimedia-rich classroom experience.

The new Altinex Showtime 2100 is the ideal solution for integrating a variety of audio-visual equipment into a unified, expandable, and easy-to-manage system that enables educators to focus on the message without getting caught up in the logistics of operating the equipment. The system facilitates playback from a single source such as a personal computer, document camera, or DVD player and is fully field upgradeable to support multiple input devices as finances permit. As with all Showtime systems, the Showtime 2100 provides automatic projector and projection screen control. A simple press of the power button on a wall plate controller enables the projector and lowers the projection screen. If the classroom uses a flat panel monitor instead of a projector, the monitor is automatically switched on.

Sound reinforcement is equally well implemented on the Showtime 2100. The system’s sound reinforcement provisions include an integrated amplifier, loudspeakers, and support for a microphone input. The Showtime 2100 features an integrated switcher with a built-in microphone mixer that blends the microphone audio with the program audio from the active source device, such as a computer. This useful feature enables the instructor to add comments while the presentation plays.

Another thoughtful provision included with the Altinex Showtime 2100 AV Presentation System is support for page and alarm sensing—frequently known as auto-page ducking. Auto-page ducking automatically mutes system playback so that a page or alarm can be clearly heard. Audio returns to normal when the page or alarm subsides. With this all-important security feature, instructors needn’t worry about not being able to hear important announcements.

With the Showtime 2100’s Room Combine feature, two Showtime systems may operate independently as separate and discreet systems or may be joined together so one system controls both rooms and shares source devices. This convenient feature provides increased functionality in partitioned multipurpose rooms. Equally noteworthy, in addition to its sophisticated electronics, the Showtime 2100 includes all the necessary cables for interconnecting the system—making this a comprehensive AV solution designed to provide years of trouble-free operation that enhances the learning experience.

Phil Hale, Altinex Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the company’s new Showtime 2100 AV Presentation System, “Our new Showtime 2100 is an extremely cost effective package for school districts looking to take advantage of the educational benefits of audio-visual equipment. Being fully field upgradeable, this system enables educators to start modestly and grow their AV capabilities as finances permit. The Showtime 2100 enables educators to reap the benefits from their AV investment while making the classroom an exciting place to learn and discover. I’m confident both educators and integrators will find this a compelling package with excellent ROI (return on investment).?

The Altinex Showtime 2100 AV Presentation System carries a MSRP of $2600.00. It is available now.
